my pc has a problem... kinda. Im infected with the Winantispyware 2005 Hijacker, but i have no problems with my pc at all. No pop-ups, nothing. However every time i run my virus/spy programs i detect this program. Again i have no probs with my pc but i want this thing removed from my pc. Does anyone have a quick fix besides loading the 4 other programs that everyone is telling me to? The other way isnt hard to do i just dont want 4 more anti virus programs on this pc and have to tweak files here and there. Was hoping for a quick fix before i do all of this word...

Don't know exactly how to remove that, but in the past whenever I have had problem with spyware that I couldn't remove with programs I did one of the following. I either used a program to tell me where the file or files were located and then I deleted them from the registry or I did a system restore to a point when I wasn't infected.

ive done lots for this d**n winanispyware 05 problem. If anyone else by chance gets this, here are a few things i already tried:
- system restore - no good, file is in registry, no matter how far i go back, its there. - startup configs - found it in msconfig and turned it off, turns itself back on right after. - start up menu fix in anti spy programs - turned off the spyware, turns itself back on, the virus program recognizes this but still the program turns itself back on anyway. - safe mode options - tried all of the above in safe mode. - finding the file and renaming - i found a few files that look suspecious, however i cannot confirm these are the bad files, (trial and error begins soon on these files) - virus programs that fail - norton, mcafee, trend micro, spysweaper, adware, panda, avg and i tried a few generic ones because getting desperate - I tied a rock to the virus and threw it in the lake, i returned to shore and there it was again waiting for me, fkn houdini man. - ive tried dif options and reporting my hijackthis report to pros on forums for help. They say i should be clean from the directions they have given me. Yes i followed directions to a "T".
the battle continues,.
